I’ve moved on on pastures new, guys and girls. I’ll be happier there. Please, please update your links and feeds, and keep up the great feedback! <3
I would like to apologise for the quiet month I’ve been having here at Terminal Twelve – amidst packing up those boxes to move house at the end of the month, I’m also in the middle of changing from one job to another. Busy times! I will try and get a regular service running again once things hit some smooth seas soon, and I’d like to think that by then I’ll be a lot more organised and (hopefully) be able to present you with some better content. Until then, I’ll try and squeeze out a couple of articles… but no promises!
Stay safe for now!
Last night, a great friend of mine hosted an amazing party at her home to celebrate her 25th birthday. As much as I love them, I have never actually attended a fancy dress party (!! I know, it’s a crime, I’m sure…) & thought long and hard about my costume. It’s safe to say that I really, really enjoyed myself – the party, the music, the food, everybody else’s costumes and being together with all of my friends. Aw, I’m such a sop!

As you can maybe tell, I went as Alice In Wonderland. My boyfriend went as Maverick of Top Gun fame and spent up until yesterday 5pm (aka. shop-shutting time!) trying to locate a costume that he could actually buy (all costumes for Top Gun seemed to be for hire at £35, what’s the point?) but we finally pulled through and executed our amazing fancy dress ideas with style.
I now can’t wait for the next suspected fancy dress party – a ‘Dead Famous People’ fancy dress birthday party, at Hallowe’en of course! We already know what we’re going as…

My personal favourite – which is bound to be a tonne of other people’s too, and you will clearly see why – is the ensemble in the above photo, and what does it remind you of? Indeed, those famous 30-seconds that open every girl’s almost-biblical fashion and relationships series, Sex And The City. Not only does it outright pull off Carrie’s very first outfit as seen by the world, but think of all the other versatile ways you can put these items to use? That beautiful pink bustier will look fabulous as an evening outfit paired with black skinny jeans and a pair of super-tall heels, or even with a pair of wide-legged trousers and a big comfy cardigan. And imagine the white sequinned skirt in all it’s puffyness with a black off-shoulder bodice and ballet flats, or trussed up with a power blazer? With all the thinkable efforts you could put into making these two pieces into feasible outfits, you’d be crazy not to make a beeline for them when they hit stores soon.
And maybe sometimes, you’ll just want to dress like your favourite Queen (of style) for the day!

I love to dress casual and comfy, with a hint of retro. Did you know that this gingham shirt is one of my many recent eBay bargains and cost me no more than 99p? How do you like them apples! Plus I’ve had this elastic-hemmed pinafore for an age and a day and it still hasn’t lost it’s fashion.
Post #10 — Thursday 3rd September, 2009.

Signatures set in stone — You know, the life-changing ones? Well, I’ve just signed the forms that bring my boyfriend and I to live in the same flat in Surrey. Three cheers! What started off as a massive step turned into a bit of a no-brainer; with this, I’ll be able to spend all my time with my favourite person and not have to worry about flitting from my house to my parents to his – this will be my centre. No longer do I have to worry about forgetting my facewash / deodorant / spare pair / etc. No longer do we have to stress about how long it’ll be until we see each other. No longer do I have to worry about other people other than us. It’s less stress, money and effort – the perfect ingredients for living together! I’ll have all my stuff moved here by the end of October and I really, really can’t wait. Watch this space and maybe I’ll document how I influence the house.
The Wildhearts — One of my favourite bands released their new album at the start of the week. Since I’m seeing them live in a couple of weeks, I thought I really ought to get listening to it – usually, it takes me ages until I get around to hearing an artist’s new release. Luckily, my boyfriend has managed to nab hold of it and while on a mission to work this morning (I left my purse there, d’oh) at 6am, we set it to the first track, whopped it up loud, and let the sound infiltrate our ears. Well, I never. Chutzpah! is legendary! The sort-of pop punk that’s weaved in with heavier, industrial sounds that makes you unashamed to listen to it, for a band to have been around for so long with so many members flittering in and out to still sound so flawless is some feat! The first track, Jackson White, is my favourite song of the moment (I’ve heard it about 10 times in 6 hours and know the lyrics already) – low, gravelly vocals and searing guitars and singalong lyrics about wanting to be lonely. There are rumours of the band playing the album in full on their tour and if that’s the case, I know I’m going to be rocking out hard when they launch into that song!

Honorable mentions! — The Reading festival highlights, Bloc Party impressing me the most (I have to go next year); more overseas trips in-the-planning, to Cork and Copenhagen *squee*; getting over-excited about fitness; this cute cycling cape (maybe being part of the previous point); Aimee Marie’s luscious new flat!; picnics in my back garden with good friends; 8am on a Sunday morning and really enjoying the early start; lifts into work at 6am from my love <3 especially when I’m not even supposed to be in work! & we’re only going to pick up my purse that I’ve forgotten just so that I can make breakfast!; repayments in tea; writing on the train; beginning to sort out my wardrobe; Friday night pubbage & congratulating new fathers
; being too early and laptopping outside my future flat, because I know I could connect to the internet there; finally reading Confessions of a Shopaholic and loving it; freebies! (now I feel like a real blogger, haha); discovering little secret hidden alleyways in London; lovely light blue squared moleskines of love; blissful Bank Holiday weather.
Hope you’ve all had a cracking week. I can’t believe it’s September already! Just to note that for now on, this category will be published as The Weekly Wicked List. Over and out!

Oh-so exciting! On Thursday night, myself and a horde of other bloggers got to go to the JoY store on Bankside for a private (and free!) shopping event, in association with Go Find It! As a big promotion of the brand-spanking new Ford Ka, the treasure hunt theme revolved around cars – little, cute silver keyring-sized ones, infact! Strategically placed around the store, we were to find one each to earn £60-worth of vouchers to be spent in the JoY store. All of this along with champagne, cupcakes and meeting new bloggers, how could it not be a fun night?
With flute in one hand and a Red Velvet cupcake (courtesy of Lola’s Kitchen – yummy!) in the other, it made for difficult hunting skills. So myself and Aimee Marie, who I was lucky enough to be taken by, downed our drinks like the classy birds we are and got down to some hardcore searching. We started quite badly, feeling like we were the last two even still looking for the little silver cars – even having one snatched from underneath (well, above) our noses! But finally, I found mine in a kitschy cupboard, and waited to trade it in for vouchers until Aimee had found hers. Finally, with vouchers in hand, we got down to some serious shopping!

—
While my wishlist sort-of went a bit unnoticed once I was in store, Aimee still made a beeline for the gorgeous heart locket bag that she’d pinned her hopes on – and was lucky enough to bag (ha!) the very last one, with the help of a generous store worker (called German; thanks, German!) who wanted his beloved bag to go to somebody worthy. We also both picked up tacky gold letters of our first initials – very useful, I trust you’ll agree – and after umming and ahhing for what could easily have been eternity, I finally picked up the grey dress pictured above (from my perfect outfit mannequin, <3) and never let it go! Lest we forget the most perfect pink birdie brooch, and there I was; with £60 worth of stuff and not a penny more/less! Who says you can’t shop for free?

—
Well get this: it got better. Aimee and me were just getting ready to leave when we were approached by the lovely Violette who let slip that there was still a car hidden in the store, but made it very easy for us both by motioning that it was placed in the display that we were standing right next to. With me searching one way and Aimee looking another, and an agreement to split the vouchers with one another with we found them, we managed a whole rotation of the stand until we realised other bloggers knew. Upping our search desperately, we frantically started working our way around the display again… until there I saw it, poking out of the pocket of a pair of jeans. Like the East Londoner I am, I snatched and ran (haha). I received the extra vouchers and split with Aimee and we agreed to save them and spend them at our most local JoY store in a few weeks time… a great excuse to meet up!
All in all, I really enjoyed my evening. I went into it really not sure of what to expect, this being my first blogger-ish event, and came out with a big smile on my face, near £100 worth of free stuff, watered and fed, knowledge of new blogs and an urge to write. Clearly a great way to spend a Thursday night!
Don’t forget! This isn’t the end of the generous giveaway! There are still tonnes on miniature Ford Ka’s hidden around JoY stores across the country, on every Friday in September. Find one and you’re the proud owner of at least £10 to spend instore. Don’t fancy it? Be tempted with the chance to win £100 vouchers on the last Friday of the month. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!
Ladies and gentleplums, I am excited to annouce that I have finally won a competition. Go me! This is such a big feat, I racked my brains to think of the last time I had won something and all I could think of was a Flat Eric poster, aged 10. Seeing as I am 22 now, that’s a long way to go with not a lot of luck. So when my girlpal Aimee annouced a lil’ giveaway on her blog, I just had to step up to the challenge. I closed my eyes and dreamed of my ideal Ford Ka (think purple & pink, scatter cushions, white seats & a kickin’ mixtape) and what has it brought me to? A horde of vouchers for hot store JoY, that’s what! £60, infact. Phewy! I’d better get my shopping skates on – the clothes-a-thon is on Thursday and we are both looking forward to it very much. I’ve even overexcited myself with a bit of a wishlist (I say ‘a bit’, and mean ‘too much’!):

1. Frill Zip Toucan Tee, £19.60
2. Graphic Splash Skirt, £24
3. Coral Bird Dress, £35
4. Button Side Knit Dress, £49
5. Eiffel Tower Peak Necklace, £12
6. Red Or Dead Double Flap Purse, £15
7. Zip Two Tone Dress, £17.50
8. Cloud Skirt, £19.50
As you can most likely guess, I can’t wait! I endear to keep you updated with the event itself come Thursday — as will my cohort, Miss A.M.! Ciao for now, bellas.

These are, I’ll have you know, the shoes of my dreams. I have been hunting high and low for a long time for the perfect red high heels. Any pair that I have spied before usually fall short of the qualifying criteria (which is bright red, not patent but perfect shinyness, and – more recently – a nice highish heel that doesn’t render me taller than my boyfriend) but I stumbled across these beauts in a lully little vintage shop in Reigate (although I question it’s vintageness since it was selling my favourite Primark belt, but it was ramble-down all the same!) on my sunny Surrey weekend and instantly fell in love. I have since hardly taken them off, well, except to go to work, and have been planning them into a myriad of outfit combos. I can see these being my most usable, flexible shoes for months (I’m hoping years, but let’s be cheap-girl-realistic) to come and am very, very happy that – for now – my shoe collection appears to be a little more complete.
